{toc} ===CMS Admin Panel=== The CMS Admin Panel is used to start populating the system with users, roles, pages, and files necessary to start building the website. The panel is available in three operational modes: * Basic * WebMaster * Administrator =====Basic===== Basic is used by the [++Applications Provider.Mini-sites|Mini-sites] offering. It provides the administration interface to the small business owner for managing a fixed website. =====WebMaster===== If the logged in user has the WebMaster Role assigned, the user gets access to a subset of Web Parts in the CMS Admin Panel. =====Admin===== If the logged in user has the Admin Role assigned, the user gets access to all Web Parts in the CMS Admin Panel. ====Getting Started==== The CMS Admin Panel is the first Web Part seen when building a new Website. The website designer has uploaded the software, master templates, skins and the Admin page. The Admin page contains the CMS Admin Panel Web Part. Before the CMS Admin Panel can be used, it progresses through a series of stages: # If there are no CMS Users added to the system, the CMS Admin Panel displays a Create CMS User form. The user fills in the form and a CMS User is created. # If that there is at least one CMS User, the CMS Admin Panel prompts the user to login. The user sees the Login Prompt. #* The user MUST be logged in as a CMS User to use the CMS Admin Panel. # If the user is logged into CMS, The CMS Admin Panel is displayed. The 'Domain' displayed in various Web Parts identifies the website that content is being stored for. A CMS Admin Panel supports one website that is defined by the Application Folder website configuration parameter. ====Basic CMS Admin Panel==== Websites that contain mini-sites make the Basic CMS Admin Panel available to site owners for making simple changes to the site. (This uses the Navigation Link File.) * [COR Page Meta Data Web Part|Update Page Meta Data] is used by the COR Administrator to update Title, Description and/or Keywords for a web page. * [COR PersonalSiteConfig WebPart|Folder Configuration] is used by the COR Administrator to edit properties for the website. * [COR Style Sheet Viewer Web Part|Style Sheet Viewer] is used by the CMS Administrator. It displays the styles defined in the style sheet. This makes it simple to identify what styles to use in a web page. * [COR Theme Viewer Web Part|Theme Viewer] is used by the CMS Administrator. It displays the skins defined in the theme file. This makes it simple to identify what colours are used in a web page. ====WebMaster Role view of CMS Admin Panel==== The WebMaster CMS Admin Panel provides * Page Management - the ability to create pages, upload and manage files. * Site Management - the ability to manage the navigation menu and view style colours used on the site. * Language Management - the ability to review the bilingual phrases used in Web Parts. * Folder Management - the ability to manage access to pages in each folder of the site. * User Management - the ability to create and manage users. * Roles Management - this ability to create and manage roles. * Feature Management - the ability to review data input by custom Web Parts. * My Links - an optional list of favourite links. for the website. Web Parts for Page Management include: * [COR Create Web Page Web Part|Create Web Page] is used to add a new web page to the site. * [COR Page Meta Data Web Part|Update Page Meta Data] is used by the COR Administrator to update Title, Description and/or Keywords for a web page. * [COR Manage Files Web Part|Manage Files] is used to delete, rename, copy and upload files for the website. * [COR Upload Files Web Part|Upload Files] is used by users to upload files to a folder in the website. * [COR Test Page Links Web Part|Test Page Links] is used to test hyperlinks in a page. * [COR Change Master File of Page Web Part|Change Master File of Page] is used to change the Master File of a Page. ====Site Management==== Site Management addresses the actions associated with the website. Web Parts for Site Management include: * [COR Navigation Menu Editor Web Part|Navigation Menu Editor] is used by the CMS Administrator to edit the navigation file. (This uses the Navigation Link File.) * [UrlRewriteWebPart|Manage Rewrite Rules] is used by the CMS Administrator to add/edit and delete rules for rewriting urls. * [COR Google Site Map Web Part|Google Site Map] creates a site map file used by robots to scan your website. * [CMS Audits Web Part|CMS Audits] display the audits saved by the system. * [COR Style Sheet Viewer Web Part|Style Sheet Viewer] is used by the CMS Administrator. It displays the styles defined in the style sheet. This makes it simple to identify what styles to use in a web page. * [COR Theme Viewer Web Part|Theme Viewer] is used by the CMS Administrator. Web Parts for System Administration include: * [COR Web Config Trace Web Part|Website Configuration File] is used to configure application settings in the web.config file. * [COR Master Page Configuration Web Part|Master Page Configuration] is used to configure the Site Master Page. * [Table Applications Web Part|Manage Websites] defines a new website index stored in the Personalization database. * [Table Subscriptions Web Part|Manage Subscriptions] manages subscriptions used for Jetfire applications. * [COR Manage Session State Web Part|Manage Session State] is used to change where the Session State is stored. * [COR Create a Site Web Part|Create a Site] is used to create a folder with pages and protected by a role. * [COR Folder Viewer Web Part|Folder Viewer] is used to use the folders of the website. ====Performance Management==== Performance Management addresses how the website is performing. Web Parts for Performance Management include: * [Monitor Session Web Part|Monitor Session] is used to check session parameter usage. * [Ping Database Web Part|Ping Database] pings the database from the web server. * [Speed Test Web Part|Speed Test] tests the speed of the connection from the server to the user point of connection to the network. * [W3C Validator Web Part|W3C Validator] validates html. ====Synchronize Files==== There are a number of files shipped as part of the release. These files may be exported to the website for use. Web Parts for Synchronize Files include: * [COR Synchronize Themes Web Part|Synchronize Themes] is used synchronize themes from the software release to the website for customizing the look and feel of the website. * [COR Synchronize Xml Files Web Part|Synchronize Xml Files] is used to synchronize xml files from the software release to the website for customization purposes. * [COR Synchronize Workflow Config Files Web Part|Synchronize Workflow Config Files] is used to synchronize Workflow Configuration Files from the software release to the website for customization purposes. ====Language Management==== Language Management is used to manage bilingual strings for CMS and Jetfire Web Parts. Web Parts for Language Management include: * [Table Localization WebPart|Manage Languages] is used by the CMS Administrator to add and edit multi-language strings to the database for the website. * [Select Languages Web Part|CMS Select Language] is used by the CMS Web Master to review language translations used in Web Parts. * [Synchronization Localization WebPart|Synchronize Localization] is used to export and import strings from the Localization table in the database. ====Folder Management==== Folder Management addresses the actions associated with pages in a single folder. Web Parts for User Management include: * [COR Login Web Part|CMS Login] is used by the user to log into CMS. * [COR Create User Web Part|Create CMS User] is used to create a CMS user. * [Create CMS Role and User Web Part] is used to create a CMS user with a Role.
